Green investment for AES India

BESS-External-744

As part of the AES Engineering Group’s £29 million pound by 2029 green investment pledge, AES India has placed an order worth £530,000 ($720,000) for advanced battery storage.

In parallel, the roof is being replaced in order to accommodate solar panels. This is a time-consuming process but the batteries, due to be installed in August this year, combined with the panels, should allow the operation to go almost entirely off grid, lowering its carbon footprint still further.

Other environmental projects planned in AES India include water harvesting with a 300,000 liter underground storage tank, and an investigation of the feasibility of using electric motorcycles for local transport.

AES Engineering global MD Chris Rea, welcomed the progress being made in India as part of the group’s drive to achieve Net Zero in terms of its carbon footprint.

“We are committed to taking action across all our global sites, leading by example in the race to combat global warming and encouraging other businesses to do likewise”, he said.
