Working on achieving net zero by reducing emissions is the target for the Leeds-based company Brandon Medical.
Executive Chairman Graeme Hall says that he believes that this is something all companies should do as a priority, rather than just buying green energy and offsets.
“We’ve done a lot of work on our premises reducing our electric and gas consumption,” Mr Hall said, “We’re changing our company cars for EVs, and we’ve increased our EV chargers from four to 16. We’re also installing 100 kVA of PV to supply them.”
Six of the EV chargers are specifically for the company’s employees, to encourage them to transition to the use of EVs as their personal vehicles. Mr Hall described it as the company’s first step in the reduction of its Scope 3 emissions.
Brandon Medical employs 75 people in the design and manufacture of equipment packages for operating theatres, ICU, and primary care.
