With a focus on building energy efficiency and reducing heat loss, homeowners can gain maximum benefit from eco-renovations such as heat pumps, solar panels, and battery storage. This is also important to achieve future home standards in the UK.
Aiming to achieve Net Zero by 2027 Oakworth has been acting to improve energy efficiency across its UK sites. John Capper, Managing Director explains:
“Over recent months, we have changed all of the lighting in the buildings (offices and production areas) to LED lights. We have also installed an air source heat pump to provide heating to the offices and hot water to all other areas and insulated the ceilings in the offices. Collectively the impact we are seeing already is the drop in the amount of electricity we are using.”
These sustainable changes have reduced Oakworth’s electricity use by over 10% and removed the use of natural gas with space heating now achieved by heat pump technology. These milestones are a recognition of ‘make sense’ environmental investments and commitment to the Betterworld policy to prevent global warming.
